The area of Høgelshøj, Aabenraa and Rødekro
Høgelshøj is a newer built-up area located midway between Rødekro and Aabenraa with green open spaces and nature as the nearest neighbor - and with Hospital Sønderjylland just around the corner.
Aabenraa is a city in southern South Jutland with 16,425 inhabitants and Rødekro with 6,098 inhabitants. The towns belong to the municipality of Aabenraa, adjacent to the border with Germany.
Aabenraa is an old city with architecture from different eras. Significant buildings in Aabenraa include St. Nicolai Church from the Valdemar era and Brundlund Castle, founded by Queen Margrethe I. There are also several well-preserved 19th century neighborhoods around the following streets: Slotsdage, Store Pottergade, Lille Pottergade, Nybro, Skibbrogade and Gildegade.
Public and private schools
The city has 3 primary schools - Kongehøjskolen, Høje Kolstrup and 10. Aabenraa as well as Aabenraa Friskole and Deutsche Privatschule Apenrade.
Aabenraa Statsskole offers both upper secondary school and HF, and Teknisk Gymnasium Aabenraa offers HTX.
IBC Business School is a branch of IBC, which also has branches in Kolding, Fredericia and Middelfart.
Higher education is available at the University College of Southern Denmark. Here, nurses, social workers, educators and pedagogical assistants are trained.
VUC and Højskolen Østersøen are also an option.
